Decided to run out for a couple hours and see if I might find a walleye. I casted assorted jigs and even a few crankbaits to no avail. I decided to downsize a bit and caught a couple small white bass and 1 crappie, also small. They went back home to grow up a bit. I was about to call it a night and was slowly cranking a small shad rap when about 2 feet from shore I got a hard hit. Heavy fish but too dark to see. Had to be a mama walleye right? Nope it was a 27 1/2" kitty. I love Utah Lake you never know what fish will decide your bait looks like lunch. 3 white bass, 1 crappie and a kitty in 2 hours of casting for walleye. Beautiful sunset.
