Grayling in Deer Creek?
#1
When I was a boy, I had to do reports on many of the local fisheries for my Biology class. I clearly remember using some literature from the Division of Wildlife Resources for one of the reports that said there were Grayling in Deer Creek. Any of you remember that?

Also, I remember people catching Northern Pike in Utah Lake in the eighties. Am I crazy? Delusional?

I've never heard, seen, or caught any grayling out of deer creek. My best guess they stocked it years ago and if anyone caught one recently they came from Trial lake to - high provo river - Jordanelle - Middle Provo - and then finally got to Deer creek.

A good amount of people are sure catch pike out of Utah lake this year. The carp net guys pulled out a nice 30"+ this or last month.

Yeah, the current dwr report actually recommends using steel leader fishing for walleye in Utah Lake because you might catch a pike. I think they are over stating it a little.

When I was a youngster, and that was before the 80s, I was told that they caught pike in Utah Lake, but what they were calling pike were actually walleye.

It could have been Deer Creek Lake on Boulder Mountain. I'm not sure if they have ever been stocked in there, but they have in many other Boulder lakes.
