New member here. With yet another, Willard report.
#1
I've been lurking around for some time now. Thought it's about time I introduced myself. Been an angler nearly all my life. Mostly fly fishing rivers for the last 15 years. Last year I bought a boat, to make it easier to take my kids, family, and friends out with me. I've read a lot of good reports and info here on BFT over the last year. Lot's of angler's willing to help other people out. I hope to do the same with my first post.

Hit Willard this afternoon, and had a blast. Went to the light pole first thing. We weren't marking (or catching) many fish, so we moved to the north east, to an area we fished last weekend. Trolling gray and white Husky Jerk, Rapalas at the usual 2.5 to 3 miles and hour. Started picking up fish right away. Caught 12 or so in 2 hours. 4 of the fish were caught reeling up the empty lines, after the boat stopped. Plenty of other boats in the area were landing fish also. All the fish we caught were wipers, and we finally hooked into some larger fish. If you see me out on the water (or in the parking lot) stop by and say hi. I'll be in a older, white, Crestliner Phantom SST.

Welcome, thanks for the report. Keep the reports coming. Since you say that you fly fish, try throwing minnow flies on a fly rod, if and when you hook up it will be fun.

I fished freeway bay last weekend with my 7wt. using clouser minnows, and some white and grey zonkers. Never hooked up, but I intend to keep trying.

Nice report. Welcome to the site!

We tend to fish Willard and Strawberry mostly and occasionally the Gorge. Say hey, if you see us - we'll be in a Hewescraft Sportsman (white/grey) with a grey bimini top - and we always have our pooch Annie along with us.
