Road to Haws point
#1
Has anyone been up to the berry and know how the road past the marina towards Haws point is right now? I heard that if there is any snow on the road that you can get a Misdemeanor and fine because they are "groomed snowmobile trails" during the winter and I wouldn't want to get hit this next week on wednesday when I am up there to camp. Any info would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Answer your question yes you can drive a car to go to Haws point. At least on the main road. Beyond that point is a but tricky. In the morning it was fine, you could drive onto of the hard snow, but coming out you could easily get stuck even with 4 wheel drive. IM not an expert with my truck by any means, but there was one point that made me nervous sliding toward a steep slop. But I obviously made it out, just be careful beyond haws point. I guess to answer your real question, no, you have to be really desperate to snowmobile at that point in the year, half of the road is completely snow free. Good luck.

I wouldn't recommend driving a car to haws point. The plow has plowed one path way for about 2 miles. it stops just past Bryant's fork. I have 37" toyo mt's and my truck wouldn't make it to haws point. Unless the snow is hard or the plow comes back it will be a couple of weeks.
