Willard
#1
Hit Willard yesterday the 28th and had a tough time. Landed a catfish and one wiper. Hit it again today the 29th with my friend Tony and still a tough fish but much better. We landed 7 wiper, put 5 back and kept 2 for dinner. Sizes varied between just a few inches and right at 20". No true consistency in lures or depth. We did however notice the fish were hitting more on the outside turn and trolled at 2.8-2.9 fish were caught all over, light pole, all the way to mid lake. Hit the water around noon and landed first fish at 1:23 PM and landed the last one around 5:11 PM left the reservoir around 6:10.

Great report, thank you and it sounds like you had some fun. I know we really had to work for our fish on Friday. I'm not sure how these guys get 20-30 fish days all the time, they must know a secret I need to learn. How was the power squadron over the weekend? I seen some show up as I was leaving on Friday so I'm starting to think the pleasant fishing will be ending soon. Thanks and catch Ya later. J

Thanks again Kenny for getting me out. Good first outing for me, One thing he forgot to add is he had the hot lure today and just had to rub it in that he caught the only two keepers. [sly]

Next time buddy!!!! Next time.

Very nice... by the looks of the pictures you were fishing an area we have been doing well in too. We have been trolling at the 2.8 mark but on numerous occasions when we slowed to boat the one on the line the other rods would hook up too, so a variation of speeds works well.

we were out that way on Saturday and did pretty well. When we have one hook up trolling, we reel em all in and stop the boat. Everyone starts casting and reeling and more often than not we will have doubles and sometimes even triple hook ups! its way fun catching them while casting too, they hit it like a freight train! My boy landed a 22" 5lb monster this way, it was awesome!

I have to get my lead on you early because it will take me longer from now on to do that well again. The bad thing about you fishing with me [Tongue] now you go and buy my lures. LOL! J/K buddy I wouldn't do have as well out there if it wasn't for you showing me some tools to use. Can't wait till the next trip. Maybe tomorrow for me and soon for you I hope. Thanks again.

Looks like you had a blast. Cant wait to try my new boat but my electric troller will only pull my boat at 2.2. Do you think that will be fast enough?

Out there is all trial and error. It changes so often,I don't know for sure anyone really has it figured out. I have fished with guys that fished many spots for years and now they are in way different areas. The speed is crazy too. If you are not catching anything at that speed try figure "8". They may hit the outside rod because it speeds up.

+1 doing figure 8's or S turns are always a good tactic for trolling, works well on Kokanee also. [fishin]
