Utah lake from shore

3 hours on the lake side AFBH 7 pm 10 pm,
no fish, no bites, cut bait, shrimp, chicken parts, no love.
Lake is muddy.
no one there but me and Utah county sheriff.

The muddiness would have something to do with it. It's spring runoff time...

Most catfish reports have been similar to yours in the wake of the storm. In my experience cold fronts turn off the bite, the cats seem to go deeper and are less active. Once the weather settles catching cats should be more 'predictable', but then again 'predictable' may be a contradiction to fishing .

I fished the south end of UL today... launched from Lincoln and headed east toward Sandy Beach. Water temp was 57 degrees at 7:00 a.m. and warmed to 59 by 11:00. Gotta be getting close. Hope this next cold front isn't to cold. I'll bet by May 1st there will be love in the water everywhere.

Lots of carp activity today... a few carp clusters and lots of jumpers -- probably females shaking egg sacks up a bit in anticipation of some serious love to begin.

Caught 5 cats on carp meat... best was a 24 incher that I will enter in the contest. Purty day.

The best is yet to come.
