Taking the family camping in a week or two and want to go somewhere we can fish from shore that is not a high mountain lake so it's a bit warmer this time of year. Thinking of Yuba but haven't shore fished it in years. Is there still good fishing from shore at Yuba when kids are involved, meaning baits and easy stuff.
Any other suggestions on locations within an hour or two of Utah County that would be good for kids and more desert camping for warmer nights would be appreciated.

Fishing Yuba from shore with bait you are likely to catch carp and not much else.

yep and some of the carp will drag a small kid in or at least make off with their pole.

Plenty of carp to catch. Try bread on a hook. It worked for us a couple weeks ago.

Worms on the bottom for carp will be your best bet. If you don't get a hit within 5 mins move on and try another spot. Be ready for a 4lb to 10lb carp, they're definitely in there!

You can catch plenty of carp right at the damn and if your lucky you might snag a pike or two i have caught a few of them floating minnows a few feet from the top
