ATTENTION Carp Archers
#1
The annual frolic and frenzy is on at Willard. I saw only an occasional splash yesterday, but today the shallows were alive with carp. I was in Eagle beach bay and also saw them in the north marina.

Go stick a few thousand of them, guys!

Just got back from Utah Lake and I can say that the carps big dance has started. I managed to get ten carp with my bow. The females where full of eggs and the males were leaking milt. I now have enough bait to get me through the fishing season. I was at the Mill Race and all fish were harvested from the bank. I didn't even get my feet wet! Go get'em archers.

Thanks for the update. I am going to be on UL at 5:30 Friday morning with my son and nephew. I will take the bow with me to fill catfish bait up as well. If anyone is at the Lindon boat harbor say hi. Fishslayer, i will have the extra BLT catfish paper with me if your in the area. I will stick it on the window of my truck. Help yourself to it you will have to use tape or something to cover my username that I put on it before I printed it.

I was at Willard yesterday, launched from the south marina. There were a bunch of carp in the shallow grass by the outlet from the marina to the main lake. You could have walked in ankle deep water and grabbed 10 in a matter of minutes. Yeah, get your bows out and cull the population on those things!

[#0000FF]I went up this morning. Saw carp splashing in the shallows early but when I quit fishing and grabbed my bow they boogied. Nothing to shoot.

[#0000FF]They SHOULD be afraid...VERY AFRAID.

But it doesn't say much for ya when you got a face that scares carp.

It's your reputation Pat, not your face.

[#0000FF]I suppose some of the carp pictures I have posted in the past may have contributed to my "image".

Pat-- Now judging from the angle of the arrow between the eyes in that first picture you are lucky you didn't hit your own foot. Now come back and tell us you stopped him in a full charge at 30 paces.....[Wink]

Some of the love groups I saw today could have been taken with a sharp stick. Can't wait to put a little hurt on them with my bow.... more fun to watch gkids do it though.

Fish on.

[#0000FF]He was in full charge alright. But after a female carp and not after me.

I wish I had a picture of my all time best carp shot. 5 on one arrow. Back in the early 80's when the lake was super full and flooded way back up into the old Benjamin Slough channel. Carp were packed side by side in the fields, with water so shallow their backs were above water. A couple of fellow carp killers and myself laid waste to them...with a contest to get a low angle of shot and see how many we could string on one arrow. It was nothing to get three. Fours were not unusual. But I was the only one that managed a legitimate 5. Think I should put that on my tombstone? "5 in one twang".
