I'm going to Minersville next week to catch some big trout with my fly rod, but also think now would be a good time to try and target some smallmouth while I'm there. I will be launching my tube from the state park area, and likely try for them around the rocky dam area with some senkos or plastic crawdads. Let me know what else might work

Beaver County.
the State Parks gave up on Minersville a long time ago. The County has revived the facilities, and made it a very nice place. They've done a great job and deserve a bit of recognition. It's easy to pull out a couple $$ to support a group that recognizes the benefits of providing nice facilities.
Not sure what the water temp currently is, but you should be close. Those smallies should be just about ready....

I have caught two really nice smallies this spring at Minersville fishing for trout...both were caught on wooly buggers but on the end of the lake furthest from the dam. I would strongly advise you to fish the other end of the lake and avoid the dam area. I would also suggest you drive around the lake and fish the Adamsville side...I have always caught more smallmouth on this end of the lake in the spring compared to the other end.

Thanks everyone for the info, still watching the weather to see if it will be safe enough for my float tube, but I'm getting more and more excited to go!
