wild weather

All of this wild, windy weather plus the low water levels is sure raising havoc on my spring fishing trips.

It seems like it's been raining almost non stop the last 2 weeks. It's strange that it hasn't helped the water levels at all. I can't imagine what it would be looking like without all this recent rain...

We won't see any water rise until the ground is saturated. Until then, the dry-as-a-sponge earth just soaks up whatever falls or melts. No runoff until the run-in is done.

It isn't wasted, however. Our groundwater (aquifer) is as drastically in need of recharge as our surface waters are.
