Pet Friendly Waterfront Lodging
#1
Hi everyone. I posted in the Nevada general forum trying to find some info on where to fish in Utah for the beginning of August.

Well, the wife keeps changing the criteria for what the plan is going to be. It was supposed to be for a campground near the water, but now she's asking about just staying in a cabin or lodge.

We have a small dog, so they would need to allow pets. Again, it would preferably be waterfront. I'd like to fish for trout, but also having bass there would be nice, and I will be bringing a kayak. Thanks everyone.

Just don't come to Deer Creek. Dogs are not allowed near the water or even in a boat. [frown]

Strawberry has a lodge. Lots of trout there and a short drive to starvation for bass and trout. Fish lake has lodge/cabins as well. Lake Powell has a lodge but that is all warm water fish there. There may be others but I am that I am not aware of. Someone else may have an idea.

I checked fish lake and their cabins/lodge are no pets allowed. I'll check the other two places out. Thanks.

Sounds good. Another choice would be a hotel/motel in the town closest to your lake of choice. An example of this would be get a place in hurricane and then you are close by both sand hollow and quail creek state parks. Also if you don't mind the drive go to Duchesne. Starvation is right there. If you want to stay south then lots of options.

It sounds like you need to get a travel trailer or a very nice top of the line tent trailer so as to appease your bride.[bobhappy]

Try Moon Lake. They have cabins (pet friendly), on the lake, boat rentals etc. Also could pack into the Uinta mts from there. One more try is Defa's Dude ranch, not on a lake but pretty nice fly fishing stream, again short (4 mile) hike into some pretty pristine lakes in the Uintas. Not sure about pet friendly - not too good of a website, but can call them. Both of these are beautiful pine/aspen areas.

Red Canyon lodge in flaming gorge. Cabins on there own private lake, short drive to Flaming Gorge and North Slope mountain lakes. You will not regret it. Pretty sure they are dog friendly unless things changed in the last week.

There is the flaming gorge lodge as well, looks like it is pet friendly, for a fee[Wink].

That was the whole plan, to rent a teardrop at outdoor rec here on base. But, she's changed her mind. Oh well, happy wife, happy life and all that. Panguitch has cabins by the water, so we're gonna stay in one for a few days. Looks like it'll be a fun trip.
