Gorge 6/14-15....
#1
Hit the Gorge yesterday morning and fished all day, Launched at Sheep Creek and headed up lake, fishing coves and banks along the way, cicada's are out and get thicker the further uplake you get, we found a lot in the Jarvies area and pounded the Bows' on top with our fly rods, we also jigged them with White tube jigs, bass were liking the jigs also, fished until dark and camped at the Jarvies boat in campground, back on the water at 0600 and it was a repeat of yesterday other than we each jigged up a small Mack from 100'.

Wow, look how calm and flat the water is. Every time we fish the gorge we get blown off. Nice report.

Never made it to Mustang Ridge. We put in at Sheep Creek and headed up, but I bet the cicada's are thick up there at Mustang, how do you plan on fishing?

Hey I'll take it although I havent fished the gorge im no stranger to the cicadas on the green, I'll be fishing from my boat and preferably with the fly rod but I have a down rigger and spin gear if it comes to it/I wana try for lakers a bit. My only limitation is its only 14' with a 9hp motor im not the most mobile nor do I want to find myself in too much wind with a long ride back to the boat ramp.

Some smallies still guarding black fry over beds on Saturday, the 20th. Surface temps were 66F in the morning and up to 72F in the afternoon.

Good luck! Ryno
