If someone told me you could fish for 7 hours and only have 1 bite and call it a successful day I would have called bull, but today with the help of some great friends and better equipment I went back for another try at the Muskies. We only had the one bite but ended up with my first Tiger Muskie and it was a real thrill! Watching that thing jump out of the water made my day. It wasn't the one that got my lure last week, but it was a fat 38 1/2 incher.

Really not very big as Tigers go, but it was a lot of fun! I can see why people get hooked on pursuing these things.

Hello Gary, way to go. Now you're probably hooked on Muskie fishing. I hit Willard it was on fire. Caught 12 Walleye, 25 Wipers, and a half a dozen Crappie. I'm fishing the Gorge this week-end in a Bass tournament. Any pointers on where the Bass are?

last year I fished Pineview probably 20 times without catching one. Plenty of crappie, perch, SMB and a few decent browns. Then one day while trolling my usual Rapala on 6 lb mono, I looked over and my pole was bent almost in half and drag was ripping out. I thought surly I had snagged into a submerged tree...but then the "snag" started to jerk back!
It was probably a 30 minute fight of line on, then back off the spool! Super tense knowing I only had 6 lb test and no leader!
Finally netted the beast and it was in the same ballpark as yours...She swam away tired but healthy!
Great catch man!
