Scofield
#1
I am heading to Scofield on Friday and will be up there till Sunday. I haven't fished on Scofield on open water for about 3 years. Any pointers for me? I will be fishing from shore really early in the morning (5am to 8am) because I will be a single parent for the weekend. I will most likely fish with the kids in the evening when it's not to hot. Thanks all in advance for the responses.

Haven't fished it since ice off, but we usually do well on the west side or in the dam arm. Expect mostly below the slot cuts and chubs, but you may luck into a bigger cut or tiger. We caught them on NC or chubs at ice off, but in the past I've had success with minnows, gulp baits, rapalas, and Jakes lures. Expect the water to be pretty low. Not sure how the moss is going this year, but it usually gets pretty bad in the summer. A canoe or float tube really helps get out past that mess.
