Hyrum, Pineview
#1
Going to Hyrum Saturday and Pineview Sunday. I have never fished either of these. Anyone have any suggestions on where to fish on these waters? What works good ? I will be fishing from a boat.

The only place on Pineview you can escape the berzerker power squadron is in the narrows. It's a large No Wake zone south and west of the Port Ramp. Fish the rocky shore with crawdad cranks or drop-shot rigs for smallies or the small bay at Rattlesnake Creek for muskie.

Besides the Narrows you can fish the Spring Creek arm behind the no wake buoys. Tons of Crappie back there fish the weed tops in 15FOW...use 1/8 oz white maribou jigs cast out let sink and slowly retrieve...Crappies are not huge but still fun most crappie were 6-8" with several at 9". Practically every cast we had a Crappie on. Have fun and be safe...See attached map and you'll see Spring Creek and its full unlike what the map shows.

There's a map of the no wake, non-motorized and no boat zones in this thread:

(K2 knows PV better than me and is aware of this map, just thought I'd look it up and post it to be helpful, as I do love Pineview and like the idea of fishermen enjoying the place.)

The no-wake and non-motorized zones provide great fishing. There's good SMB fishing in the Narrows, think about where the sun will be when you're there and fish in the cover that has trees shading it. The points in the middle are good even with wake coming in. Fish for crappie and bass in the non-motorized areas that have water up to the brush. Shade and submerged brush are key.
