Warning Tickets given at Crystal Trailhead
#1
Warning, the forest service was giving tickets to all cars parked in the no parking zone, about 30 cars or better. That included down the road and on the corners in the parking area.

It was the most crowded I've seen, even the overflow lot was full down past cutoff to Washington.

I imagine federal tickets are not cheap.

Also keep in mind circling, if later on Saturday Morning as a lot scouts were coming out, to be home for Sunday.

We were there on Sat. and I've never seen so many cars. Once we got away from the parking lot, we found a lot of solitude (and fish). Not sure what was going on.

The campground host was warning people not to park on the road because the Rangers issue tickets on the weekends, but most people blew him off. When we came back, all those cars had tickets.

We had to park more than half a mile away from trail head, but glad we did. Campground host said illegal parking fine is $125.

I'm glad that we parked in a designated parking area. Had to walk a few blocks further, which added to my sore feet (should have put on the Moleskin earlier), but I will gladly trade that for a $125 fine.

Makes you wonder what they do with all that money from tickets.

They must be making a grundle of money just on the weekends for the $6 fee to go up the canyon and camping fees have sky rocketed.

We were at the fishing parking lot at Trial Lake a few weeks ago, and there wasn't even any toilet paper in the restroom.
