Nightmare on provo river.

The fishing will be terrible unless if you have a beer can wrapped around 200 lbs fishing line then you might catch a few human fish xD Make sure the beer can floats.

Not sure why anyone would fish that place in the summer anyways.

It would be interesting to see the reaction on peoples faces casting a hookless fly line right at them. They would have some stories to tell about the crazy fisherman on the Provo.

This really is a huge problem on the Provo. People have every right to float the river, but they also have a duty to respect the river. 90% of the trash I see on the Provo comes from people throwing empty beer cans and other detritus off their tubes as they float down, screaming as if they're going through some class 5 rapid.

Just wish people could be more respectful of the river. It's a great fishery, but I avoid it from April-October because of the yahoos floating it. They make it unenjoyable for a lot of folks.

Its a public river we all should be able to enjoy the river as we see fit plus Ive seen my share of littering fishermen.

Just find better water theirs tons of rivers that don't have a rubber hatch. [cool]

I think you have the right idea, but this thread is kinda funny.

A couple random points.

1. In the summer, the LoPro is just as overcrowded with anglers as it is from the "tube hatch". Difficulty in finding a good place to fish is the main reason I stay away during the summer.

2. The fish rapidly get used to the tubers and are not bothered by them at all. In fact, the tubers often churn up the bottom, setting up a sort of "San Juan shuffle" if you cast behind the tubers instead of ranting about them. Bottom line, if you are failing to catch fish there during the tube hatch, it is a you problem. You can't blame the tubers.

3. The "eye candy" from the tube hatch is not the worst thing to get exposed to while other anglers crowd around you for decent spots to fish.

4. The trash produced by the tubers is a legitimate problem. Inspection of the trash makes it evident that the tubers produce an overwhelming amount of it. Yet anglers get blamed for it when the legislature is dealing with issues regarding stream access.
