Cleveland in the Fall
#1
A friend and I decided our time was running out for fishing the higher elevation lakes in our tubes. We fished Cleveland Reservoir today from 10:00 until 2:00 using fly tackle. We used medium and fast sinking lines with size 6-8 bead head buggers, leeches and soft hackles in black/copper, black/orange, white/red, and black/green. We caught one cutthroat and the rest were rainbows from 14" to 18" long. The water temperature was 41-42 degrees and the visibility was about 6'-7' in the water. The reservoir level is much lower (28% full) than this time last year but is starting to raise. The fish are in good shape going into the winter. The fishing wasn't fast but steady enough to keep us awake. It was a beautiful November day on the water with almost no wind.[fishin]
