Huntington North - Wipers haven't gone into hibernation yet
#1
A friend and I fished HN today from our tubes using fly tackle. We fished from about 10:00 until about 2:30 and managed to pick up one small largemouth, two wipers, and several rainbows from 12" - 17" long. The water temperature is down to 45-46 degrees now and the visibility is about 6' - 7' in the water. The water level is starting to rise about a foot/week and is at 52% full. We used fast sinking lines with size 6-8 bead head crystal buggers in tan/green/pearl and midnight fire. Most of the fish were hooked in 12' - 18' FOW. The fishing wasn't fast but it was good enough to keep us from heading home early.

Well poop! I thought it was over and was waiting for ice, I put my giant 14' and 12' boats away for the winter yesterday.
After reading your report I have a feeling that the 12' porta bote might get uncovered and wet again. Don't want to de-winterize the gas motor but don't see why I cant just throw on the electric and go for it.
I was surprised to see the calm waters seems every time I go It acts like starvation.
Thanks for the report

Your welcome.

You might want to give it a try tomorrow. It's supposed to be calm and warm before the storm on Wednesday.

I'm hoping the weather man is right because I'm going to try Starvation tomorrow.[fishin]
