great day at scofield.
iced fish all day long, small 10-12 inch cutts and a never ending supply of chubs..
caught one 16 inch cutt. no bows.
ice is 6+ inches thick .
green or white jigs tipped with chub or butter worms worked the best...

I admire your optimistic assessment of what a great day is. A great day at Scofield used to mean a 25 inch tiger, with a few 20 inch cutts and bows. It seems like the majority of chubs have now outgrown their predators. The few remaining large tigers and cutts can only do so much and the majority of the little snakes with fins can't handle the size of most of the chubs.
RIP Scofield.

Has anybody heard of any plans to poisen Scofield to get rid of the chubs? I would have thought with the low water level this fall would have been the time to do it.

after seeing the reports and everyone catching non stop chubs. I'm perplexed why they don't just poison the whole thing. This fall would've been perfect to and stock in the spring. Sounds like it'll be a long recovery for scofield at this rate.

They have a 5 year plan in place. they will not be stocking rainbows anymore and will only stock larger tigers and cutts with the hope of getting them to fight of the chubs. We can only hope it will turn around. I miss this lake

Sounds like a great place to take kids if you just want to catch fish. Chubs can be as much fun to catch as any game fish. Not so good to eat however.
