Ok I know a lot of you guys have been waiting so here it is. I fished Pineview today. Cemetery point area. There was 5" of solid ice on both the north and south side. Fishing was as expected and on point. Crappie are bigger this year. See the photo.

That is a nice mess of crappie. Thanks for the report.

I'm hoping that you had some company to help catch them since there appears be more than 20 in the picture.[Wink]

Yep, I fished with another guy. We kept 38 fish, some of said fish were also perch, if you really must know the specifics... Officer. [angelic]

Just look out for the pressure ridges out there. The lake may not have frozen evenly, so be careful before you cross over. The center ice may be thinner. There was a noticeable ridge extending from the end of Cemetery point and crossing the lake towards Browning or just east of there. I would definitely inspect before driving a machine onto ice west of Cemetery.

Very nice! Last year I was finding them consistently in about 45 feet of water. Where was the good depth you were finding them today? I might take my kiddos out there later this week but my transducer to my ancient sonar is broken and I haven't ordered another one to get me by yet off of Ebay. Eventually I want the Lowrance Elite 5 ice machine, but that is a month or two away from happening...

Nice to actually see a few perch in there. Last year I don't even think I caught one perch through the uce.

I would definitely not take a wheeler out around browning pt. for another week or so. I was on the ice north side of cemetery couple of days ago and meandered to the middle toward browning where the fresh cap ice had formed and it was still only 1 1/2" - 2 ". That ice extended out to Browning and over the main body.

I'm thinking about parking at the Rattlesnake creek parking on the north side in the narrows. want to fish down towards the dam. Should be good ice there. Just don't know about all the snow there. Thank see you some day out there. Report coming after the ADVENTURE.

What's the best spot to park to easily access the narrows? I might go check it out tonight.

If you cross the dam going north, take the right and go past the caretaker's compound on the left, directly past it on the right there's a small parking area and a decent trail going down to the east. There's also a main narrows parking area a little further on on the right.
