Once again boredom or lack of ambition overtook me so I headed to Lincoln Beach to see what was going on. I was not disappointed….The circus was still in town. The big tops were up or at least the ice fishing tents were there to either keep away the cold or simply to prevent the users from witnessing the activities of the crowds that surrounded them. There was music from the band or was it the music of the power augers? I am not sure which. Although I didn’t get close enough to see for sure, from the diminutive size, I believe there must have been midgets, but then again…they might have been children. Very confusing isn’t it?

The very best of all was the animals. No ferocious tigers or lions, not even elephants, but the most amazing of all of God’s flying creatures…… the pelicans. Oh I was excited because these were not only pelicans, but trained pelicans that stayed in very close to the crowds to be fed an occasional white bass . It was magnificent. Perhaps not as spectacular as the flying trapeze artist, but graceful and daring none the less. And then there were the fish, not dangerous like the white sharks or piranhas, but still aggressive in their own way, able to stab you through your digits with their sharp spines should you forsake caution.Surely you have heard of “throwing caution to the wind? In this case it is “Caution in the water.” Oh the circus is wonderful. I only wish there had been a parade to finish the day’s events or fireworks. That would have been very nice, but we can’t have everything can we?

It was an awe inspiring event and I have attached a few pictures for your edification in the event you missed it. To all that were there, I am happy for your enjoyment even if the fishing has slowed down. Much better than staying in the house watching re-runs on the Telly. Wouldn’t you agree?
Good Luck. Stay warm and be safe!
