Used pretty much just standard perch fare ... Rat funkies with perch eyes. Used a piece of worm to catch the first one, then used the perch parts from then on. They were biting very aggressively.

For me they were hitting anything and everything. Any small jigs even without bait, any color. 2.5 inch tubes. A bare 3/16 jig head with no bait I was using as a drop weight. I stepped up to 1/4 oz Buckland jigs, with those large trebles, trying to avoid the dinks, and all sizes were going after that as well. Lure did not matter. Only location.

11 fow.

How does chub meat work at Starvy for bait?

Way to go TB2, haven't seen a report with perch from Starvation for a while. We use to catch some pretty decent perch out of there a few years back hope it picks up again. Thanks for posting.

Hello again PACKFAN. Actually, we found the perch last summer so we had a good idea of where to start drilling. Lots and lots of dinks which we put back to grow up. Looks like the perch have had a couple of really good spawning years. It's good to know that there are a lot of remote bays in Starvy that are very difficult to get to in the winter (I'm a walker) like over in the back of Salterous. Perch there are pretty much undisturbed until summer. Hopefully, will run into you at Cascade later this month. Good fishin' to all.

We should see you up there (Cascade) in a couple weeks. We kept our 5th wheel in Manila last summer but I think we are going to take it back down to Starvation this summer again. After having it there for 4 or 5 years we kind of missed the place. It was fun catching the big kokes at the Gorge but we missed our walleye fishing at Starvation.

Ice was 5 to 7" all the way across the back of Rabbit Gulch. Good solid ice.
