Is there a list of Fish for each water?
#1
I've been searching for any kind of list that would show me where I can catch different species of fish.
If I wanted to catch a Walleye in UT...what bodies of water have them?

Does any kind of list like this exist?
I guess the second best would be a list of the waters and what species existed in each one.....but going through each one would be time consuming.

Just curious.

Im not sure of a species by species list. Maybe try a Google search? I like this website for what's in a lake though.

Just the little guidebooks you can pick up wheever they sell tackle and licenses have this. A list of waters with species and any special regs. It's not comprehensive, but covers most of the major popular watersd in the state.

I've seen a few over the years but most are now outdated since being printed. One of the latest, which does not have every water in the state but does list a bunch is a book by Brett Prettyman called fishing Utah.

Brett Prettyman's book is the most comprehensive source of information about fishing waters in Utah that I've found, but there's been several editions of it and once you go back three years or so the information can get outdated and it can be wrong about regulations so you'll want to always check the regs. www.utahfishinginfo.com does have a list of almost all fish species in Utah, it even lists some major waters for catching bait fish and minnows. It has severely outdated info in some places, but the fish list is at the top under "Fish Species".

Well - I guess I just need to get off my lazy rear end and dust off the library once in a while....I actually have the book!
Thanks for reminding me.
Between that and the UtahFishingInfo website I found everything I was looking for....plus!

Thanks again.

The DWR's stocking reports are very useful for this purpose, however they won't help as much with self sustaining populations such as largemouth, etc. https://dwrapps.utah.gov/fishstocking/Fish

This DWR page is also helpful...including with self-sustaining populations:
