A friend was telling my son about an Android app that has a fishing chart on it that he claims is very accurate. Even to the times during the day as to when the fish will bite.
I said that I wanted it too, but was told it's not available for any of the Apple toys.
I guess my real question is. Do these charts really work? Is there anyone out there who has followed them long enough to have an informed opinion
And does any one know of one for Apple?
I've always believed that the best time to go fishing was when ever you could. But when you have the time to choose any day of the week it would be great if you had a clue when it would be best.
Any ideas?

I use Fish times pro on my Iphone. And I am absolutely positively sure that without a doubt that it is 100% accurate on the sunrise and sunset times! It's awesome! As for the fishing times I think that sometimes it at random intervals it might be somewhere in the neighborhood of being close to useful. That being said I like to check it and it does make me feel better fishing on a 5 star day. Anyway I like that app I have had a couple different ones just search fishing calendar at the app store.

Look up fishing times on in fisherman then Google some of the fish chart times from in-fisherman and see what they have to say. I've used it. I've used it extensively over the years and it seems to work out probably 75 80% of the time I believe in it yard equals about fishing times and shoulder times and then fishermen are really quite informative

Tell me what their basis is for their prediction? I don't think you can't predict living breathing animal behaviors based solely on moon phase or many other external factors --animals do what they do for their own reasons. Weather, moon, water conditions, feed availability, competition, fishing pressure, etc play a role. In my opinion there are way too many variables for any real accuracy. I've had times where I referred to them to see how accurate they were but I kept catching fish, sometimes lots of fish, at times when I wasn't supposed to be catching any. I pay more attention to current conditions most of the year and add in moon phases around the spawn. In my experience fish are feeding most of the time, ya just have to find them and figure out what they're eating. Sometimes it takes some work but that's what makes fishing a challenge and so much fun. I suggest not letting some mindless chart determine your fishing time and get out there and catch some fish.

Nope.
Weather patterns are a much bigger factor than solunar tables.

X2 ... frontal passage has always been the hot time for me. Especially when you are moving from a high pressure system to a moderate low. Cloud cover moving in mid day, etc.

X3....also, windy days causing moderate chop for any upward looking species, it makes them more comfortable than a glassy surface due to the fact that it's harder to see through from both under the surface and above.

I look at them, but don't see they're very accurate. If I have only a half day to fish and trying to decide morning vs evening, then I'll let the solunar tables help me make the decision.
