Making the trek down to Scofield for the first time tomorrow, looking for any info on ice conditions and what areas to target

Fish the east side, the waters deeper, maybe even the dam arm. Use a small hook and worms to catch chubs and then use chub meat to catch the cuts and tigers. Fish shallow 10 feet or less. Kill all chubs. Save them for the berry...

Chub meat makes good bait most places. Always good to have a few on hand. Every time I make plans to go get some I end up having something else come up so it gets canceled.
