The Fish Lake Perch Tournament is just over a week away and about 1000 anglers have already registered! You can register online at [url "http://wildlife.utah.gov/perch-tournament.html"]http://wildlife.utah.gov/perch-tournament.html[/url] through January 27. It will be possible to register at the lake on the morning of the tournament, however, we won’t have many people to dedicate to new sign-ups so you might have to wait in line and lose fishing time. All those who registered online can quickly check in at Lake Side Marina, Twin Creek Picnic Area, Joe Bush Day Use Area, or a few other parking areas, then get fishing. All those who register online will also receive an email update reminder late next week with final rules, instructions, and a map.
The Fishlake National Forest has done a great job clearing snow for parking and camping. The Doctor Creek Campground, Doctor Creek Group Site, and Mallard Bay Overflow will be open to first-come first-serve camping. Please DO NOT camp in any day use parking lots. We are discouraging folks from bringing ATVs and snowmobiles, but the Mallard Bay Overflow will be open for a limited number of ATV trailers.
Don’t forget to bring two-way radios and set to channel 4.0 to receive tournament and prize updates throughout the day.
Sevier County and Utah's Trail Country will be sponsoring a Facebook contest for the tournament. Just take up to a 90 second video of your Perch Tournament experience at Fish Lake on January 30th and then post it to the Utah Trail Country's Facebook Page ([url "https://www.facebook.com/utahtrailcountry/"]https://www.facebook.com/utahtrailcountry/[/url]) as soon as your technical experience allows. The two videos with the most likes by noon on Monday, February 8, 2016 will earn their video makers a $250 Visa gift card.
