Ya know.... I have to hand it to a guy that can catch a nice fish like that and have the level of sportsmanship to take a photo and then release it. 99.9% of the folks that would have kept that fish would have put it in the freezer and tossed it out next summer. Congratulations on a great catch and an even greater display of sportsmanship.

I agree! Nothing against those that choose to keep fish but I think it's cool when the big ones get released. I've never regretted turning back a trophy fish.

Even a pale fleshed cutthroat? Yuck! Don't take my previous post as a negative one, I know a lot of people eat what they catch but I also know that a lot of fish gets sent to the landfill.
I agree smoked Koke is my ultimate favorite!

It was about 25 inches measured with the tape and we figured it was at least 6 or 7 pounds, and yes if it was a koke or a rainbow it would be in the smoker. It seems too rare at Strawberry to actually bust the darn slot, but we will try again next Saturday.

I have been fishing strawberry somewhat religiously for the last 3 ice seasons. Yet to catch a slot buster. I don't think they ever grow up. ha.
