Skunk-a-Roo at Rockport 1/26
#1
Hit Rockport this morning. Parked on the east side campground. Got on the ice at about 7:00 Snow covered a nice slush that went to your ankle. Hard pulling a sled. Blue bird day. I watch Outdoors with the man catching them in 20 ft of water and five feet down on a green paddle bug. Which is what I did. Green, White spit on , yellow you name the color and I used it. Pink rat finkie. A green one I moved and I moved. I was on the east side which might have been the problem. it was very tough moving in the snow/slush I even prayed to the fish gods to just give me a bite. But they must have been at Strawberry like most of the people. I even went to the bottom with one turn up and notta . I don't like getting skunked. It stinks so to speak. So I am headed back up there tomorrow. only this time I will be fishing the west side Second turn in looks the easiest to navigate. Any tips? Should I bring the kitchen sink this time to throw at them?????? Oh and I used worms, meal worms, and wax worms goose egg??????? [fishon]

I would take a fish finder with you this time. You might be able to see the depths they are swimming through. Then you will know if its the bait your using or the type of jig is wrong. Some fish are picky on how the bait is displayed on the jig. I know strawberry can be this way. Just my thoughts on the issue.

Sounds like my morning yesterday, on the west side. I was further south than where you're planning, so hopefully you'll have better luck. And I also tried a little of everything. Moved several times and never managed to even see one on the flasher. A couple of other groups in the same area had similar results. Good luck!
