[#0000FF]Excellent. Sorry I was soaking up the sun...and mid eighty degree temps...in Arizona. Would dearly love to do some hand to fin combat with those big perchies.

Uhhhh...what about all the lurkers? Shouldn't you have posted this on the Premium Board? LOL.

You're right Pat, but we aren't allowed on the Premium board. You should clear a space in your schedule and come up with us. It's a thrill seeing a huge perch come up in your hole.

[#0000FF]Sorry. Couldn't resist. I know the K2 team isn't on that board either and it's a touchy subject. Just hadda take a poke.

Man, I have been trying to get aboard the Cascade Express for the last two years and something always comes up. Maybe next year...if I don't go with someone who leaves me on the ramp.

I am sorry to be the one to tell you those are not Perch! Perch don't get that big, someone painted Small mouth and put them in that lake.

Fantastic job putting the video together. The only thing missing was me. It won't happen next winter. If I remain above room temperature, I will be part of the group heading north.
Thanks for sharing the images of a great trip. It's always fun to see friends enjoying themselves at a world class destination for JUMBO perch.

This is an amazing fishery...Idaho has worked very hard to get it going and established including keeping the water elevation stable unlike for the most part Utah and water fluctuations. the fish and game has also gone on record stating they are surprised at this and hope it continues but they are predicting a decline here in the next few years and its not from harvest but from never ending life cycle. Some of those 15" plus fish are 7 approaching 8 years old. I have to say there are a lot of the 10-13" year class. A few under 10" were caught but not many...

Largest Perch we got was 15.75" including partners fish at 2.3# was the largest Perch caught in Tackle Toms tourney. Gary again slayed the fish on his secret lure and bait...there were numerous 14" plus caught had reports from friends up there this weekend they are seeing some 16" plus...WOW is alls we can say.

No harm no foul by me TD on the secret society not interested in it one bit...I have to LOL on that section anyways as nothing is secret on the internet...nothing. Plus as I've stated in the past, sources tell me there's nothing of secrecy being posted there anyways that couldn't be posted elsewhere. I know you were kidding also...but I'm sure it ruffled some hackles...haha. Oh well...its the pride of some...or so they think. Let the lurkers see the posts and enjoy just because one posts all the details if they desire doesn't mean the same result will happen for the evil lurker.

Cascade isn't a day trip at all. Its a multi day trip as its 800 mile plus round trip and for WyoGuy even longer... some have openly stated its too expensive to go to Cascade to catch 'a perch'. So be it...but we plan these yearly trips and save and we'll make it happen to fish 3-4 days to catch 'a perch'. Also having a machine of some sort is a huge plus.

Not counting last year (weather conditions prevented trip_ this will be our 4t or 5th year going up there and we are getting to learn this body of water and its habitat so our catch size rate is increasing. Plus we have gotten to be good friends with locals who fish it very often and almost every weekend. So we always have spot-on intel of conditions and locations...nice when you have friends...[Wink]

Sure would like one last trip up there....hmmmmmmmmm [cool] [cool]

Haha and he was playing chicken with us on the machine getting close and driving through...but its all good...I think...just wish I had more video footage of him as he caught some nice fish.

All in all thanks for the positive feedback on the video and this overall trip as it is a fun time with some totally awesome folks.

Thanks PIKEMAN99...rumor has it you made a quickie run up that-ta-way and found 'a Perch'...good on ya yep our little armada of Perch Bandits is increasing and now instead of eating out each party plans and brings a main meal and others toss in the sides... just bring food and eat at the lodge and all staying at the lodge are welcome to join in on the Perchie party festivities at the end of each day...it is a whole lot of fun and great friendships being made. Birch Glen staff is totally awesome...think if you stayed there you know that...
