How long a plank?

How long does my plank need to be to get on solid ice, one more time at Cemetery north side? I'm talking Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

As of early Sunday morning we used a 5ft one and it barely spanned the width safely. The gap was less than that but to have it on more solid ice a longer one would have been nice although harder to carry in the sled.
