Been monitoring the live cam. Couple guys were on yesterday fishing the open water. Saw Ranger Rick check their papers. Looked like they got skunked.
So i went this am. Looked good but found the water refroze overnight. S%#(& now what?
30 minutes later and careful tossing of 40 plus stones I created a channel 3 foot wide and 25 foot long. Knew I'd need to wait a while, like how many time have I scolded the young en for trowing rocks?
Well the bow showed up in 30 minutes. Beached 4 16 - 18 inches an hour later. Wow, fun seeing en under the clear fresh ice on runs.
So even though I was on the shore and made my own hole through the ice, was I ice fishing? As I think about it I was probably was out of compliance with my ice hole but nobody could on 1/4 inch of ice. Hahahaha sure was a hoot!
