laptop fishfider?

anybody ever heard of fishfinder software or the possibility of hooking a laptop to a transducer and using the pc for your fishfinder. It would seem to me that there is a way.

I'm sure somewhere out there someone would be able to do it, but that would sure be an expensive piece of equipment to expose to ice fishing conditions. You could get one heck of a flasher system for that much.

Thats not a bad idea, carpkiller, with the higher resolutions bigger screen sizes and better picture quality, that would be one hell of a fish finder, and if the fishing got slow you could play a game or watch a movie, just pass the time till the bite picks back up.

Great idea!!! I love it. An on cheap laptop would not be too risky and when the fishing is slow you can play Bass Championship PC or any other game.

I found one but its pricy: $799.
