Jordan River is Flowing
#1
I saw that the pumps have been turned on. The water was way up as I drove over the bridge in Lehi.

I know that there are agreements that go back to 1905 and I understand why with irrigation issues and 1984 with flooding issues but I sure am Sad to see it go down hill when UL is so low. That's a selfish thought cause I live and fish the north end.

On the other hand the lack of water in the GSL sure is wrecking havoc on the ecological system down there with the loss of wildlife habitat. It is defiantly a double edged sword.

I hope the Snow Gods Smile upon us a few more times this month. Even if it prevents me from this years winning catfish.

What we really need to do is quit wasting water-we're the worst water state because our water is so cheap and 80% is used for agriculture in a desert area. Also, big efforts are being made at restoring the Jordan River. Low water levels aren't consistent with a healthy stream. But yes I hope we get some more rain or snow and hope its a good fishing year.

I drove past Deer Creek yesterday and it was super high. I was going to fish there at Charleston Bridge, but it was higher than I have ever seen it, so I headed to the lower Provo. Hopefully they let that loose soon to fill the valley with some water. The lower provo is really low right now too. Not sure when they usually up the flows.
