Flaming Gorge Help
#1
Hey everyone. I'm heading down to Flaming Gorge this weekend and was wondering what are some good spots to fish from shore. This is my first time there so I have no clue on even where to try from shore.

Thanks for any info!

I would bet the back of Sheep Creek Bay at the inlet has got to be heating up for the Bows' heading into the creek.

Like Remo_5_0 stated, the back of Sheep Creek is a good spot, even the creek itself. Anglers are also doing well for rainbows at Antelope Flat boat launch, but expect company at both locations. If you want to just walk shore and cast jigs, I did well last weekend around Mustang Ridge and Sunny Cove with marabous in olive or black, tipped with a Berkley Trout Worm. The fish aren't as concentrated, but neither are the anglers. Good luck!

Flaming Gorge is a big reservoir & you didn't mention which general area you will be targeting. 45 years ago, we used to do very well fishing for rainbows under the Cart Creek bridge. At that time, the bait of choice was a worm & marshmallow (and then it changed to colored marshmallow). I assume you can still do well there, the habitat hasn't changed. We also did very well fishing the cliffs in Jarvis Canyon & as mentioned earlier in Sheep Creek Bay.
