No Boat? No Problem...
#1
Try Lost Creek now, for (pretty tasty) and healthy, fair-sized rainbows, and maybe a cutt or 2...
I know a lot of guys don't have access to a boat, or maybe the boat just isn't ready yet...three of us hit L.C. yesterday, about 0830 to 1:30 and did very good soaking worms and various power baits...slowed about noon to 1:00, then picked up again...we fished just left and right of the boat ramp, nice place to sit and relax and enjoy the great scenery, except while re-baiting, releasing fish, untangling line, etc. .... Might as well take advantage of it now...road leading up to the damn is not in good condition--worse than last year, so be prepared!...Guluk...

Sounds like you had a successful trip Joe, how did those fillets from last week taste?

Filleted the 'bows and gave them away...Saving the Willard treats for a special meal with my wife, probably Mother's Day, so we haven't tried them yet...My sister was out visiting from Wisconsin, and she had earlier requested fish dinner, so one nite I prepared grilled kokanee (always amazing) and another nite I fried up some (Strawberry) rainbows and cutts in a flour and egg batter...She really liked the rainbow, but then had to admit that the cutts were just a little better...I too think they're all better when you catch them yourself, but of the "Trout" group, my order of preference would be:
1. Kokanee salmon
2. Lake trout
3. Cutthroat
4. Tiger trout
5. Rainbow
Anybody have any other preferences?
I know the "Panfish Type" are a lot different, and I hope the wipers will be high on that list...
