I am taking my family down to St George tomorrow through Tuesday to surprise my Mom for mothers day. I thought I'd take along my lil boat and try my hand at fishing one of the local spots. I've never fished sown that way before and was wondering if anyone would care to share any tips or advice etc...?

Are you after any particular type of fish or just looking for anything?
Also, are you wanting to stay right within St. George/Hurricane area?

I was thinking quail Creek or sand hollow but am open to anything that isn't too terribly far away. I typically prefer to fish for Bass, crappie, gills, perch n walleye over trout. I've never caught a big largemouth so trying for one while in dodge peaks my interest. I'd also like to feed the family a nice pan fish or walleye dinner while there

Sand Hollow. Nice Bass in there, no Walleye anywhere South that I am aware of.

Yes you would have to travel a little ways to find any Walleye as far as I am aware.
You might be able to hook into some Crappie at Sand Hollow or Quail Creek. Utah Duck Hunter seems to have them dialed in, I have yet to catch one.
Bass are plentiful and Sand Hollow and should provide for a good fishing experience, I would recommend here. They say Quail holds bigger bass, but they are a little more tricky to find there. Senko wacky has been the ticket for me lately at Sand Hollow.
