Lake powell boat rental?
#1
My friends and I are going to be heading on a trip down vegas, grand canyon, then lake powell around October 7th- 14th, and was curious if anyone knows a good place by page arizona that rent's boats out that aren't expensive or might know someone who lives down there that's willing to rent it out.

If I don't draw I'll prolly go hunting fish. I've always wanted to fish Powell that time of year. Hats off to you for looking ahead instead of next weekend. I know there is a place by bullfrog to rent boats but I've only seen the ads on Miramar? Something like that. They were spendy if you ask me bit splitting it up might be more doeable

I just bought a 16 ft Lund Fury this spring. It's not a fancy bass boat by any means (30 hp motor only) but she gets around well enough.

I'm actually just getting business license and everything now to function as rental business, and will have it done by then. Either way I would rent it to you. Only problem is I am in St. George so you would probably have to have a vehicle to tow from St. George to Powell. Then you would have to bring it back... Wahweap isn't too far but Bullfrog is a ways.

Thanks for that offer but I think I will have to pass on it especially to drive 150 miles to pick your boat up.

Sounds good, makes sense its a long drive....but keep me in mind if nothing else works.

I've searched everywhere and as stated you won't find anything decent less than 500-600+ a day. Pretty steep compared to what I would do ($200/day depending how long you need) has the Helix 5 GPS, live well, rod holders, rod storage, and I have some gear if needed. If you make stops along the way and it's gonna be parked some days, I'll work with you on price. I would take it over there and meet you, but for a price. It would still be cheaper than the hundreds of extra dollars per day you would spend at powell.

Pics attached, I will also have 2 more chairs (one up front on fishing deck, 1 in back) that will be installed this week. Already taken it to Powell twice and does great.

In 5 seconds I found a fishing boat you can rent in Big Water near Wahweap for $329/day.

From their website: https://skyliteboatrentals.com/boats.php#FishingBoat
Our Tracker 18' is great for fishing on Lake Powell and is equipped with a fish finder and electric Minn Kota trolling motor on the bow. The Tracker 18' features a 115hp fuel injected outboard motor with a 22 gallon fuel tank and bimini shade.

All you have to do is tow it a few miles to the lake. I have no idea on their reputation or anything else but it's a heck of a lot better than the $500 a day the others are talking about. It's an option for you.

Well I checked before I posted and was just curious if anyone knew any other places down there or knew someone that would rent out lol [Tongue].

But thanks for that link [Wink].
That a big plus with the mount and fish finder for that price.

Thanks for offering to rent it out but I don't think it will fit all of our camping gear and coolers without flying into the water from what I can see on the pictures.

Ya if you are hauling gear and multiple people probably not.

That skylite rentals posted above is probably your best bet, those are the best rates I have seen by far.

Ya as well I called the guy and he told me he will give me a discount because it's off season so I'm going to be happy with it and it's in my cars towing range [Smile].

Nice that sounds like a good setup.

If you all want a 2nd boat let me know, maybe I'll come join.

I'm no expert but know some good spots and cool camping spots/coves. Being in St. George I always launch at Wahweap and love it. That's one of the best times to be there in my opinion.

Bigger group = better fishing party Smile I know we will be there October 11 th - 14th or 15th.

I'm just happy to be able to head back down there because it's been 7 years since I last been to lake Powell and I'm really excited to fly fish that lake finally.
