Spending time in the mountains south of Duchenne with my moms boyfriend over memorial. We will be 30 minutes from Duchenne and I want to get on the Strawberry River in that area. Anyone have any experience with that stretch of water. Keep in mind I will be fishing flies and lures as will my wife and brother. Fly rods and spinning rods.

Stop by Western Rivers Flyfishers in Salt Lake City. They'll get you all of the info you need.

This time of year you will probably have to go up river almost to strawberry dam to find clear running water, depending on the run off from avinaquin, timber canyon, beaver and willow creek, its a good river to fish but I have only fished it in the fall, there is some DNR property above timber, its posted quite well, might think about just below starvy res I think is artificial from the dam to where Indian creek meets. good luck[fishin]

Can someone confirm this for me? This is what the proclamation says about strawberry River.
"Strawberry River, Duchesne and Wasatch counties
From the confluence with Red Creek, near Pin-nacles, upstream to Soldier Creek Dam.
• Artificial flies and lures only.
• No overnight camping on Division land."
So if you know where red creek is it's in between fruitland and strawberry (the town)
So I assume there are no restrictions, except Native American lands, on the river downstream to starvation and below the dam then right?
The proclamation makes no mention of this area of the river. All its says about starvation is no taking bass with a spear from April to July.
It also make no mention of the Duchesne River which is what the strawberry flows into not far from where I plan to fish.

Those fish are very educated below starvation and very difficult. If you are fishing flies, there will be alot of nymphing with size 20 midges. Spin fishing well early in the morning and late evening for you're rapalas. Big thing here is sight fishing and stalking very carefully as to not spook them. I believe it is artificial fly only in duchesne too

I for got about red creek, the road turn off a couple miles to the east of Fruitland that's how you get to the strawberry river, yes its artificials only, the strawberry flow into starvation, there is a road all the way along the strawberry river, from red creek down to starvy its just normal regs, the Duchesne river is piped into starvation.

There are no special rules for the Strawberry River down stream of Starvation Reservoir or the Duchesne River. General rules apply. It's a mixture of state, private, tribal and city property along the Strawberry River to the confluence with the Duchesne River. Then it's primarily private land bordering the lower Duchesne River near the town of Duchesne.
