Went up there yesterday expecting big crowds, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't crowded at all. Fished from the shore with 3 others for about 4 hours. I finally caught my first Grayling, so now I can check that off my list. They were hitting about 10-15 feet from shore. We were using bobbers and brightly colored bead-headed nymphs. I also had a pole out with just a bobber and a worm which had moderate success. In the time we were there, we ended up with a total of 16 grayling and 2 rainbow, all released to fight another day.

Always nice to catch a new species. Any size to the grayling?

yeah awhile back, someone posted a thread on here about all the species they had caught... I made my own list, and have been trying to knock them off. Got my first golden trout last year, and this year I was after tiger and grayling... still gotta get that tiger.

As for the grayling, most of them were pretty small, we did have 3 that were decent sized and very fat though, i'm terrible at eyeballing fish (aren't we all? Big Grin), so I couldn't give you exact sizes, but I was impressed with the size of those 3.

Would it be realistic to take a car up there? Thanks.

I'ts been a while since I was last there, so they may have paved it but you should have no problem getting there in a car.
