I met my brother and his 2 sons at the gorge for some fishing over the weekend and the kokes were on fire, we all limited out and had a great time. It was their first time there and my nephews are looking forward to doing it again next year, nothing gets a couple of young teenage boys excited like catching fish and jumping off some rocks into the water!

I hope you do well, you will be there for the full moon cycle and that can slow things down a bit.

I am with you. Love love the Gorge. Thanks for the pics and the report. I really want to go back there. I was up there last week but never got a chance to fish up north.

Last year we invested in a commercial food vacuum sealer at Cabela's and it has been great to have, the fillets come out as fresh as when they went into the freezer.

I need to do the same thing one day. We used one when I went to Alaska and some of that halibut got lost in my freezer and I found it five years later and it was still delicious and no freezer burn. Well worth the investment, if my family would only eat fish, I'd have one already. Thanks for the info. J

One of the best investments a fisher/hunter can ever make is one of those vacuum sealers...I have the 'Foodsaver' brand, and have been using it for nearly 10 years now...great for my fillets and also for duck breasts, dove, and geese, pheasants, etc...and like has been said, if you lose a pack down at the bottom of your freezer for a few years, or 5or 6 or 7 (like I've done) it's still in good shape...
