I usually get aching joints & sore muscles from hours of endlessly casting my modified weighted "tough" bubbles & popping plugging lures. So i figured out a style of casting that reduces the effects of the strain on my body by simply changing my traditional hand placement on the rod & reel. Also i re-position the angle of my body to maximize my strength, timing & leverage to prolong how long i can cast without fatigue or discomfort setting in.I call this POWER CASTING since i can cast farther with less arm fatigue and i can maintain this pace for hours without rest or pain.
At this mornings test site i took a huge strike while shooting these videos. Only lasted 5sec but i saw the tell tale 2-fins spaced about 1-1/2ft apart just grazing the surface just before the hit. A large Trevally. It hit the lure from the side, spun around & grabbed it & ran for 5sec before it spit it out. I'm positive the "rattling" of the bb's in my modified tough bubble drew the curious fish in.
The fluorocarbon leader was cut above the lure's head, the lures head was fractured & latter broke apart, the teaser threads were shredded & the black carbon hook scarred. Strangely the soft CHL (Completely Hooked Lure) "Oh Baby" Bugz Grub survived without a scratch. Only thing i can say is those CHL grubs are TOUGH!
This method will work for any anglers who constantly cast heavy lures and bubbles. You all know this type of angling really affects our arms & joints over time. I bowl but found it difficult to do so after a day of throwing heavy lures & bubbles. Now i can maintain my timing bowling after fishing because i found a way that allows me to cast effectively without hurting myself over time.
