Followup, today the wind stopped from 9 till noon. Caught three 13 inch walleye and one 16 inch trout. Not bad till back to 20 mph and some 40 mph. Be going home tomorrow. Water temp 67 degrees. Walleyes caught on bottom bouncer at 40 feet off rock ledges. Several tents were customized today, will be garbage tomorrow.

Thanks for report. I've got the week off and with the family, we are planning a couple of days at Strawberry then we've got reservations at Starvation Mountain View Campground Mon-Thur.

I've not fished Starvation. We'll be boating. This time of year what is the best species to target at Starvation? I've never caught a Walleye but that is what I'd really like to target. Sounds like I'll need to bust them bottom bouncers. I've only used them once, at Willard but don't think we caught anything.

[#0000ff]Bottom bouncers with a crawler rig is the best way to prospect for walleyes...especially if you are not familiar with the lake. Try to find channel edges and weed beds in 15 to 20 feet of water...sometimes shallower or deeper. Watch your fish finder.

Once you find an area with walleye and/or perch, you can do well by sending down a jig head with a half a crawler on it. Lift and drop it and sometimes just wiggle it a foot or two off the bottom.

As the water warms...after a long cold spring and high water...the walleyes are getting more active. Should be good potential.

Good luck and be sure to post a report...a good report with lots of fish and pictures.
