The kids are back in school so the pleasure boaters are gone until this weekend so I ventured out in the tube. I hit the lake at 6:30 and fished until 2:30 using my usual fly gear. I came after a wiper or two but none of them wanted to cooperate. I ended up with one nice rainbow and some nice bluegill and green sunfish. There is some hybridization that takes place and I'm not the best at identifying them anyway so if I've labeled them wrong, forgive me. I also picked up six large chubs that are now bird food. There was some surface feeding in the morning with mayflies and midges on the water. The water temperature was 65-70 degrees and the visibility in the water was great at about 9'. The reservoir level is down to 69% full and dropping about two feet/week.
It wasn't the kind of day I was hoping for but it's been awhile since I have caught any nice panfish so that part was fun.
