We tried to get into the Uintas one more time for some open water but were a day late and the dollar short. Headed up the Weber Dry Fork in the snow Thursday to find the lakes liquid, but the snow was settling into a slush instead of melting as it hit the surface - no way to get a line in. The next cold, clear morning they were now completely 1-2 inch hard deck but not quite strong enough to walk on to punch a hole through. Side bar > We came across some deer tracks that became superimposed with some "paw" prints as someone else stalked their breakfast Friday morning. Enjoyable trip even though we didn't get to wet a line.[
