Causey??
#1
Is there safe ice near the dam on Causey yet?
Making plans for the weekend and we don't want to dive a long ways if it is not capped and safe yet.

Thanks for any help

It barely capped last Tuesday. The only real cold temps we've had was over the weekend. Would guess it's borderline good to go

I fished it on Sunday. It was popping and cracking like crazy but the south side by the damn had 6" on it.

Fished it yesterday and with an actual tape measure at the dam I measured 6-9 inches of ice

It sucked! No bites, didn't mark any on the vexilar and didn't see any on the fish cam.

That's the Causey I know and (don't) love.

Why does Causey suck so bad? I have been there multiple times over the years with limited success, and more often than not, a skunk.

Gotta get away from where everybody fishes. A further walk really pays off there.

Especially if you walk to Pineview.

We'd make lousy fishing buddies, good sir. I hate Causey but like Pineview a lot.

It would be truly crappy if everyone liked only one lake. Or kind of fish. Or fishing.

I prefer lost creek to causey. the bigger the fish the more fun it is to fight! If I could get one of the muskys to bite I'd be more willing to hit pineview.

There's monsters in causey. That's why I fish there. Pull something bigger than 22" out at least once every year
