A new BFT term? "Thin Spotting"
#1
We have "Hot Spotting" The act of posting a really good spot to fish, then the next day it is shoulder to shoulder at your favorite spot.
We have "Cold Spotting" The act of posting a fishing report that was actually really good, but the poster underplays the activity in order to drive away tre crowd.
Now I believe we have a new term "Thin Spotting" The act of reporting that lakes have unstabble ice in an attempt to keep the crowd away, when in fact the ice is plenty good.

Lesson: Get out and do your own homework and scouting because you are missing out on some really good fishing.

I guess that's why you read often enough to know who you can trust and who you can't.... I seen the same thing when I first joined BFT and there are those that want to keep the first ice to themselves and they do put up false posts to serve their purposes, but you can also see most that do that don't post often, they typically aren't the ones that are willing to help with anything, so judge your sources and hopefully you'll be okay, but always know you are responsible for your own safety so never trust anyone to the point of putting your own life in danger... I hope I haven't given information that has put anyone at risk, I only report what I see, but that is usually for the path I take onto the ice and everywhere else who knows how it is... Seen a spot the the other day where someone walked over ice about 1/2" thick and probably never knew it... the rest of the lake was 5" at the time... Lucky they didn't go through... Just my take... Later J
