Went and hit the bay for our annual New Year's Eve trip. This is the least amount of ice we have had for this trip, so at first we didn't think we would be able to make it out. But we got to the lake, and saw sled tracks going all the way across the bay, so we decided to head out to our spot. Some of the nasty slush pockets had less ice than where there wasn't Slush. So be careful around those. We got out a little late, immediately had a fish or two on. Then it dies off for a while. Then around 9:30 it picked up to a constant pace. Wasn't good, but we still managed to get a fish here and there. Then around 11, the fishing picked up good for some reason. I ended up landing 3 fish pushing that 22 inch mark that I didn't care to get exact measurements and just put them back. Left around 2:30. Wasn't an amazing day, but it was good to get back on the bay and catch some fish. I ended with 12, and 6 more throughout our group. Hopefully the fishing will get good soon!
