Echo Lost 1-1-16
#1
Went to Echo Sunday and after looking/fishing around the city of holes we finally found a school of perch in 42 fow. Like a lot of people have discovered there are a ton of dinks in there and it takes a lot of culling to get a mess worth cleaning. Usual perch baits--eyes, meat and bee moths.
I lost a pair of Action Optic sunglasses that day and if anyone found a pair I have a reward. Thanks!

Thanks for posting your report, did you catch any trout? It's pretty amazing how fast that lake has made a come back since the low water years, when the lake was drained for dam repairs.

I figured I couldn't just put out a plea for my sunglasses without a least some kind of report. Slim hope but worth a try.
No trout. Been there a few times and caught one nice red meat trout. I caught that one on the bottom with a perch jig.
Ya, that's what I thought about it coming back. Goes to show you that perch and walleye don't need much to make it. Now if those walleye would hurry up and get more plentiful. You hear of anybody catching any in there? In 2-3- years Echo perch should be very nice. Little perch are fun practice though. Beats sitting there with no bites.
You been to pineview yet?

There were a few people that caught some eyes at Echo this year, during the Summer but they are always hard to catch in the Winter. We caught some perch in Echo last Winter that were 13", so they are there, this year so far nothing over 11 but that likely because there are so many little perch.

We had a great trip a week ago to Echo, Rainbows and one Brown, several perch of different sizes. Access to where we fished was earned (transporting equipment over steep slope and boulders)
