Fish lake
#1
Woke up at 2:30 this morning to make the drive from West Jordan to fish lake before sun up. Got there with plenty of time to get out before sun up and the fishing was great all day. Between my and my buddy we iced around 100 fish. About 50 perch, some tiger trout, a bunch of splake and rainbows. Water was crystal clear so we could sight fish all the way down to 16 feet, even had a big laker biting my tube job but he only wanted to bite every part except where the hook was so we did not officially meet.
Everything worked today, chub meat, perch meat, power bait, corn, meal worms, earth worms, even just tube jigs with nothing on them worked. Just a really good day.
Ice was good ish I was on the north side there was a bout 4 inches of good ice underneath several layers of partially frozen slush. Some parts were more solid that others.

Good job, great to hear the good report. Was there still open water in the middle? Also from your report, I assume no kokanee were found.
Thanks for the update.

Yes!

There is still a bit of open water as of yesterday. Crazy year so far.
Hopefully it will completely cap this weekend. Angler's should be very careful running around Fish Lake right now...

Nope no kokanee found. From my understanding we would need to be over deeper water to find Kokanee schools. We were happy with the fishing that was going on I'll search for the Kokanee on a different trip

How is the parking and access to the lake? Would a guy in a smallish car have problems?

Thanks PBH, I suspected the middle was still open. Seems that is becoming the norm these days. Hopefully we have enough season left to cap that area a well.
